'James Dean' by Chastity Belt, at Rendezvous 4/12
Warning: swearing
"James Dean" by Chastity Belt
"This is sex! / This is war! / This is me [explicit] you on the dance floor!"
It is by those attention-grabbing lines that you shall know Chastity Belt, up and coming band from Walla Walla, Washington, playing at the Rendezvous in Belltown Thursday night.
Chastity Belt recorded an album in Seattle last month with the band Dude York, fellow purveyors of loud pop rock. "James Dean" is from those sessions: a song about sex where one partner feels like James Dean and the other like a prostitute. That might sound a little sad, but the delivery suggests getting over it in a major way.
Band lineup:
Julia Shapiro (guitar/vocals)
Lydia Lund (guitar)
Gretchen Grimm (drums)
Annie Truscott (bass)
