Video: 'Frame Within a Frame' by Tacoma/Brooklyn's Jeane
Many solid bands with roots in Tacoma School of the Arts now make noise and live in New York City, the best-known being Oberhofer and Widowspeak. Also from that wave: Jeane, the most underrated and maybe most brilliant of them all. Baritone voiced front-man Paul Dally has been making minimalist noiR&B for years that exudes the coolest cool; his early band the Skins was amazing, and that's been the pattern of all his music since. Watch Jeane do a live performance of "Frame Within a Frame" above, filmed and edited on what looks like VHS by Matthew Salton.
