"Voodoo Trust" by Naomi Punk

One of the leading lights of Capitol Hill's Cairo arts movement, rock trio Naomi Punk, is putting its own spin on the music that defined Seattle to the outside world in the '90s. And why not? With 20 years gone by, the time is right to think hard about what grunge music meant, which parts were vital and which ones we can throw away. "Voodoo Trust" hits in waves and shuddering climaxes, showing the Seattle/Olympia band seemingly inspired more by the emphatic rhythmic structure of grunge than its famous image. The tune comes from Naomi Punk's upcoming album "The Feeling," out April 24 on Couple Skate Records.
