"Cloudy Shoes" by Al James (from Damien Jurado's "Saint Bartlett" album)
This is where Damien Jurado starts for a lot of people, which is crazy, since the song is from 2010 and the Seattle lifer had a full and varied career before that as a singer-songwriter, experimental producer and pop rocker. I'm not saying that's the case for Al James from Portland band Dolorean, or that it's a bad thing at all: "Cloudy Shoes" (listen here) is a great song, and "still trying to fix my mind" a key lyric with that sweet melody, a nod to where Jurado's been and is now, in music, in life.
