"Tin Foil" by Rainer Maria
Seattle/Portland man Ben Funkhouser — singer/guitarist in Hausu, all-around music appreciator — has made another mix, following his Matson on Music exclusive "206, 425, 253, 360." This time he's exploring the unhip, cathartic chambers of '90s rock music known as emo and grunge. Download by clicking the title above.
Description of "Infinite Sadness":
I urge listeners to bear with the arguably 'emo' nature of this mix. The songs are hand-selected from my embarassingly extensive 'emo' library and are all beautiful. There are a few curveballs included though, specifically the Lorries, a first-wave English goth group; Pond, Portland's best 'grunge' band and Rollerskate Skinny, led by Jimi Shields, brother of Kevin of MBV fame.

1. Rainer Maria - Tin Foil (1997)
2. Boyracer - I Am Looking For Somewhere Else (1996)
