The Seattle Times hosted indie/folk legend Damien Jurado and noisy pop trio Dude York in a live webstream concert.

The show took place in The Seattle Times' press room, one of the weirder places I've been in my life, the industrial and vaguely gothic where we printed newspapers 20 years ago. We hosted local musicians Truckasauras and Whalebones there for live performances over the summer, and the room sang with new life.

Jurado's upcoming album "Maraqopa" announces a new psych-rock style for him, apparent in the single "Nothing is the News." The release show for "Maraqopa" is Feb. 17 at the Neptune. Dude York's music is downloadable at dudeyork.bandcamp.com.

Frankly I was sort of grumpy today. This completely fixed that. Mahem. Best thing I've ever seen on the Times. Thanks.  Posted on December 15, 2011 at 9:56 PM by booonesaaaw. Jump to comment
