Photo with commentary: Fleet Foxes at Columbia City Theater 4/14/11
Posted by Andrew Matson
I'm not reviewing last night's Fleet Foxes concert at Columbia City Theater, but it should be noted that the Seattle band sounded amazing, and performed several songs from its upcoming album "Helplessness Blues," out May 3 on local label Sub Pop. I'm posting the above photo to show new band member Morgan Henderson (far right) on stage with the Foxes.
In recent interviews with Jonathan Poneman and Simon Raymonde, men who run Sub Pop and Fleet Foxes' UK label Bella Union, both said they were excited to see how multi-instrumentalist Henderson would work into the group live. To this concert-goer, Henderson was a complement, and excelled on upright bass, flute, violin, classical guitar and free-jazz clarinet.
