THEESatisfaction releases "THEESatisfaction Loves Stevie Wonder..." and Neon Warwick "Alpha My Alpha" EPs
Posted by Andrew Matson
Don't sleep on these EPs by Seattle's premier psychedelic space rap/jazz duo THEESatisfaction. Released on the Fourth of July, 2010, "THEESatisfaction Loves Stevie Wonder..." is Catherine Harris-White and Stasia Irons sing-rapping over chopped-up Stevie Wonder samples, and "Alpha My Alpha" is Irons in solo producer mode, calling herself Neon Warwick and splicing together bits of '80s synthesizer soul.

"Jackson" by Neon Warwick (download EP here)
This is career-high work from our women of perpetual dopeness, with Harris-White singing and rapping better than ever (check "Washington" and "Bush" on the Stevie Wonder EP) and Stasia blooming as a producer, sucking loops backwards on "Alpha" and crafting straight-ahead backing tracks for the group effort. Perhaps THEESatisfaction will perform from the EPs during its set at Capitol Hill Block Party Saturday, July 24.
