Kelly O photo show Saturday | "Boys"
Posted by Andrew Matson
Despite being a tireless workaholic, The Stranger's longstanding sharpshooter and videographer (and writer) Kelly O remains oddly committed to a particular levity.
Her art reflects her own Midwest American warmth, delight in audacious behavior, and one-step-ahead sense of humor. "Boys," the first Kelly O exhibit in three years, opens Saturday where Capitol Hill becomes the Central District, on 18th and Union, with music and hot dogs on hand. The event is presented by the Gossamer Collective.
I know what you're thinking: Are the hot dogs a nod to the male-centric art? I don't know, but you know how artists are with phallic symbols. They love that stuff.
