The Vaselines in Seattle: tons of fun (and half of Flight of the Conchords spotted in the audience)
Posted by andrew matson
First, welcome to Matson on Music. I'm Andrew Matson, and I'll be blogging about music from here til infinity. I live in Seattle, was raised in the burbs, and love music like my family. And I LOVE my family.
Now that THAT'S out of the way...
As it says in the glowing review I wrote today, I saw Jemaine Clement of Flight of the Conchords at The Vaselines concert last night. I let my "hey, dude, I love your work" instinct slide this time, and just let him enjoy The Vaselines' performance. And then took a photo without him knowing.

Jemaine Clement (aka "Jemaine") attending the show (following his own just hours earlier at the Paramount, which the talented Michael Upchurch reviewed here), signaled nothing, really, except probably he, like all of us attending, enjoys comedy and indie-rock.
Standing next to me through the whole event were note-taking press nerds from our two local weeklies. The Stranger's review is here, Seattle Weekly's here.
