Fresno routs Rainiers, 11-4
Tacoma wilts under Grizzlies’ 15-hit onslaught.
TACOMA — The Fresno Grizzlies pounded out 15 hits and scored in six of the first eight innings to hammer the Tacoma Rainiers 11-4 in Pacific Coast League play on Thursday.
All three Fresno outfielders — Gary Brown, Darren Ford and Jarrett Parker — hit home runs and combined to go 8 for 16, with Parker’s grand slam in the eighth inning blowing the game wide open.
Right fielder Stefen Romero went 3 for 4 for Tacoma, improving his batting average to .299.
Starter Erasmo Ramirez took the loss but pitched just two innings, allowing one run. Most of Fresno’s damage came against Matt Palmer, who was touched up for 10 hits and six runs in just 31/3 innings.

Catcher Adam Martin hit a three-run homer in the first, a run-scoring single in the third and an RBI force-out in the fifth to lead the AquaSox.
