Ryan Divish’s major-league power rankings

Ryan Divish ranks the 30 teams.

Giants: The two best teams in baseball are in the Bay Area. They couldn’t be more different in fan support, finances and stadiums. You can’t help but want to see the “have-nots” finish better than the “haves.”

Cardinals: Prized prospect Oscar Taveras is being called up to the big leagues. Does he know St. Louis has the best fans in baseball? They’ll be sure to tell him if he’s unaware.

Royals: Billy Butler isn’t hitting for power. Eric Hosmer isn’t hitting consistently. Mike Moustakas couldn’t hit, which means hitting coach Pedro Grifol gets re-assigned.

Astros: OK, we just can end the “Another dinger for Springer” every time phenom George Springer hits a homer, right now? After seven homers in eight games, it’s a little repetitive.
