Las Vegas hangs on to defeat Tacoma

The Tacoma Rainiers had 14 hits, including the fifth home run of the season by Jesus Montero, but the Las Vegas 51s won 7-6 on Friday night in a Pacific Coast League game.

LAS VEGAS — The Tacoma Rainiers had 14 hits, including the fifth home run of the season by Jesus Montero, but the Las Vegas 51s won 7-6 on Friday night in a Pacific Coast League game.

Tacoma starter Jordan Pries allowed seven hits, four walks and five earned runs in 42 / 3 innings in dropping his first decision with the Rainiers.

Chris Taylor and Ty Kelly each had three hits for the Rainiers. Taylor is hitting .382 for the season (29 of 76).
