Rainiers rally past Salt Lake with seven-run fifth inning
TACOMA — The Tacoma Rainiers used seven runs in the fifth inning to rally past Salt Lake for a 10-8 win before 1,599 Wednesday night.
Cole Gillespie’s two-run homer and Gabriel Noriega’s two-run single highlighted the fifth as the Rainiers took a 9-6 lead.
Grant Green had given the Bees a 6-2 lead with a grand slam in the fourth inning.
Tommy Field also homered in the sixth inning, pulling the Bees to 9-7.
Salt Lake moved to 9-8 in the eighth before Gillespie added an insurance run with a double in the bottom half.
