ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — The Albuquerque Isotopes scored five runs in the bottom of the eighth inning to rally for a 6-3 victory over the visiting Tacoma Rainiers on Friday.

The Isotopes’ rally spoiled what had been a strong performance by the Rainiers’ Anthony Fernandez. The left-hander pitched six innings, allowing one run and four hits while striking out eight.

Tacoma took a 2-1 lead in the seventh inning on a two-out RBI single by Jesus Sucre that drove in Ji-Man Choi from second base.

The biggest blow in the Isotopes’ rally came on a one-out bases-loaded triple by Nick Buss that made it 6-2.

Endy Chavez scored on a single by Xavier Henry in the ninth for Tacoma’s final run.
