COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — Stefen Romero had three hits and Mike Zunino homered and drove in a pair of runs as the Tacoma Rainiers edged the Colorado Springs Sky Sox 5-4 at Security Service Field on Tuesday night.

The Rainiers (31-21) lead the Sky Sox by a half-game in the Pacific Coast League Northern Division.

Romero turned in a 3-for-4 effort, including a go-ahead single in the seventh that scored Brad Miller and broke a 3-3 tie with one out. The outfielder reached base a total of four times in the series opener.

Zunino erased a 3-2 Rainiers deficit with a solo homer in the seventh, his ninth home run.

Reliever Brian Sweeney (6-1) allowed three runs on five hits over 2-2/3 innings. Dustin Ackley was 0 for 4 in his first game since being sent down Monday.
