TACOMA — Nick Franklin batted leadoff and was 2 for 3 as the Tacoma Rainiers beat visiting Nashville 5-4 in a Pacific Coast League game Wednesday night in front of 2,090 at Cheney Stadium.

Franklin is batting .318 this season.

Pitcher Andrew Carraway (5-1) picked up the win for Tacoma (29-18), allowing only one run in 6-2/3 innings.

Catcher Jesus Sucre was 3 for 4 with a double and two RBI. He is batting .302 this season.
