Rainiers beat Fresno behind Hultzen, 4-2.

Alex Liddi hit a three-run homer in the first inning and Eric Thames later went deep, helping left-hander Danny Hultzen get his third victory.

TACOMA — Alex Liddi hit a three-run homer in the first inning and Eric Thames later went deep as the Tacoma Rainiers beat Fresno 4-2 Friday night in a Pacific Coast League game at Cheney Stadium.

The home runs made a winner of left-hander Danny Hultzen (3-1), who allowed three hits and both runs while striking out five and walking two in six innings. Jhonny Nunez and Logan Bawcom combined for three scoreless innings of relief.

Thames went 2 for 4, raising his average to .339 for the Rainiers (8-8).
