Las Vegas beats up on Danny Hultzen, Rainiers

Left-hander Danny Hultzen had control issues again and was hit hard in a 6-1 Tacoma loss in Las Vegas Wednesday night.

LAS VEGAS — Left-hander Danny Hultzen had control issues again and was hit hard in a 6-1 Tacoma Rainiers loss to Las Vegas on Wednesday night in the Pacific Coast League.

Hultzen (1-4) walked five and allowed six hits and six runs in 2-1/3 innings. His earned-run average climbed to 6.09.

Carlos Triunfel had two of the Rainiers' three hits.

At Boise 9, Everett 5

Daniel Vogelbach homered and Rock Shoulders hit a two-run double during a big sixth inning as Boise beat the AquaSox in a Northwest League game.

The teams were tied 3-3 before Everett relievers Mark Bordonaro and Oliver Garcia ran into trouble in Boise's five-run sixth.

Patrick Kivlehan went 3 for 4 with a double and triple for the AquaSox, lifting his average to .301.
