TACOMA — A pair of solo home runs and a strong outing from starter D.J. Mitchell gave the Tacoma Rainiers just enough to win their home finale at Cheney Stadium on Sunday.
Alex Liddi hit a two-out homer in the first inning and Carlos Peguero added another one — his 21st of the season — in the second to give the Rainiers (59-77) all the scoring they'd need to beat the Las Vegas 51s (75-60), 2-1, in the Pacific Coast League game.
Mitchell (2-2) allowed three hits over 6-1/3 innings while outdueling Las Vegas starter Bobby Korecky (3-3), who allowed four of Tacoma's five hits in his five innings.

Dylan Unsworth's seven solid innings led the AquaSox (16-17) past the Bears (14-19) in their final Northwest League regular-season game at Everett Memorial Stadium.
