Hector Noesi flirts with no-hitter as Rainiers win

Hector Noesi took a no-hitter into the eighth inning and Mike Wilson hit a two-run homer, giving Tacoma a 2-0 win over Reno.

TACOMA — Hector Noesi took a no-hitter into the eighth inning and Mike Wilson hit a two-run homer in the Tacoma Rainiers' 2-0 Pacific Coast League win over Reno Saturday night at Cheney Stadium.

Noesi struck out 11, walked two and didn't allow a hit until Adam Eaton singled with two outs in the eighth.

Shawn Kelley replaced Noesi and got the final four outs to complete a one-hitter for Tacoma (54-74).

VANCOUVER, B.C. — Janelfry Zorrilla hit a two-run homer and three Everett pitchers combined on a five-hitter in a 2-0 Northwest League shutout of Vancouver. Everett is 11-14.
