NASHVILLE, Tenn. — The Nashville Sounds benefited from two throwing errors from relief pitcher Brian Moran in the bottom of the 10th inning and the Tacoma Rainiers lost 3-2 in Pacific Coast League action Thursday.
Tacoma went ahead 2-1 in the top of the eighth when shortstop Nick Franklin (hitting .240 this season) lined a base hit to right, moved to second on a wild pitch, and scored on an RBI double from Luis Antonio Jimenez.
D.J. Mitchell started for Tacoma (53-73) and allowed two runs in eight innings of work, striking out five and walking two.
AquaSox lose in Vancouver
The Everett AquaSox were shut out by the Vancouver Canadians, 5-0, in a Northwest League game Thursday night. Starter Dylan Unsworth struck out seven but allowed four runs in five innings for Everett (10-13).
