NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Carlos Peguero hit a two-run homer in the eighth inning to lift the Tacoma Rainiers to a 7-6 victory over Nashville in a Pacific Coast League game Wednesday night.
Tacoma trailed 6-5 before Peguero hit a two-run homer off pitcher Juan Perez with one out to ultimately give the Rainiers the edge. The blast was Peguero's team-leading 20th of the season and his first since Aug. 8. He ended the night 2 for 3 and drove in three runs.
The Rainiers' lead at one point was 5-0 before surrendering six runs over the fourth and fifth innings.
Quiroz and Carlos Triunfel also hit home runs.
Everett 8, at Spokane 3
Marcus Littlewood and Patrick Kivlehan hit home runs to help the AquaSox to a victory over the Indians in a Northwest League game.
Everett's Christian Carmichael was 3 for 5 with a double.
Steve Ewing (3-1) earned the win, allowing two runs on seven hits in five innings.
