Rainiers snap losing streak with win at Salt Lake

Tacoma won its second game in 14 outings thanks to a pair of RBIs from Luis Rodriguez and Luis Jimenez.

SALT LAKE CITY — Luis Rodriguez and Luis Antonio Jimenez each drove in a pair of runs as Tacoma held off the Salt Lake Bees Tuesday night in a 7-3 win — the team's first since June 2 and its second win in 14 games.

An RBI double from Rodriguez and a two-run homer from Jimenez in the third inning gave the Rainiers the early lead. Salt Lake came within one with a string of hits in the fifth and sixth, but a three-run ninth from Tacoma sealed the game.

Brian Sweeney (2-1) allowed six hits over six inningsin the second outing of a three-game series against Salt Lake. The teams face off again Wednesday at 11:05.
