TACOMA — Vinnie Catricala was 3 for 4 and drove in three runs as the Tacoma Rainiers earned a 4-2 victory over the Colorado Springs Sky Sox before 2,242 in a Pacific Coast League game Monday night.
Tacoma starter Anthony Vasquez allowed just one hit — Brandon Wood's third-inning homer — in seven innings. He struck out five and walked one.
Shawn Kelley pitched one inning of relief and Chance Ruffin struck out two in a perfect ninth for his first save.
Johan Limonta was 2 for 3 and doubled for the Rainiers, who are off to a 3-2 start.
Wood was 2 for 3 and scored both runs for Colorado Springs.
