Dustin Ackley hits tiebreaking home run in Tacoma Rainiers victory
Dustin Ackley hit a two-run homer in the seventh inning to break a 2-2 tie as the Tacoma Rainiers beat the Memphis Redbirds 5-2 in a Pacific Coast League game at Cheney Stadium.
TACOMA — Dustin Ackley hit a two-run homer in the seventh inning to break a 2-2 tie as the Tacoma Rainiers beat the Memphis Redbirds 5-2 in a Pacific Coast League game at Cheney Stadium.
Ryan Langerhans followed Ackley's home run with a solo shot as the Rainiers (18-26) earned a series split with the Redbirds (17-25).
Reliever Royce Ring (2-1) collected the win after holding the Redbirds scoreless over 1-2/3 innings in the seventh and eighth. Josh Lueke picked up his team-leading fourth save with a scoreless ninth.
