Rewind | Live chat with Tacoma Rainiers 2B Dustin Ackley

Dustin Ackley is one of the top prospects in the Mariners' organization and slated to be the club's second baseman of the future.

A three-year starter in the outfield at the University of North Carolina, Ackley finished his career as the top hitter in Tar Heels history with a .412 average. He also set school records for hits (346), runs (227) and total bases (544).

Ackley led UNC to three consecutive appearances at the College World Series and was the first player to be named to the all-tourney team for three straight years. He still is the career leader in hits at the CWS with 28.

Following his outstanding college career, he was taken No. 2 overall by the M's in the 2009 MLB Draft.

In 2010, his first pro season at West Memphis (AA) and Tacoma (AAA), he hit .267 with 7 HR and 51 RBI.

Ackley talked about his position switch from outfield to second base, his outlook for the 2011 season and much more in a live chat April 20.
