It’s time to break out the tank tops and shorts.

The Puget Sound area is about to get an extended stretch of summer weather as temperatures are predicted to reach highs around the mid-80s for several days next week.

The National Weather Service predicts a steady warming for Seattle with a 30 percent chance of rain and a high near 77 degrees on Saturday, followed by a high near 82 on Sunday, 83 on Monday, and 84 on Tuesday, before dipping to a high of 78 on Wednesday.

Those temperatures are about 10 degrees higher than the normal highs, which hover in the 70s, but are still about 10 degrees cooler than the records in the 90s. While such temperatures are typical for July, those in Seattle will feel the difference.

“It’s going to be a nice change of pace,” said forecaster Josh Smith with the weather service.

Across the Cascades, the weather service predicts Yakima will see temperatures rise with mostly sunny forecasts from a high of 89 on Saturday to 93 on Sunday, 94 on Monday and a shocking 100 on Tuesday before cooling down. Similar forecasts are in store for Wenatchee, with a high of 86 on Saturday, 92 on Sunday, 93 on Monday and 99 on Tuesday.
