RAVE To the kind Seattle motorcycle officer who made sure I finished the recent Shore Run when I was struggling at my first attempt at running 6 miles. As I approached the finish line, he smiled and told me, “You said you could do it and you did.” I was the very last one to cross, but his kindness lessened the sting. Thank you to all the wonderful officers who give so generously of their time so that we may enjoy activities that are abundant in the great Northwest.

RANT To smokers who toss their cigarette butts on the sidewalk or street, it’s revolting. What do you think happens next? Either someone who shouldn’t have to deal with your garbage sweeps them up, or they get washed into Puget Sound. Shame on you, you really should know better.
