The newborn found dead last week near Snoqualmie now has a name: Baby Kimball Doe.

The name comes from the Kimball Creek bridge near where the infant was found. The baby was full term and the umbilical cord still attached when it was discovered Feb. 12, according to King County sheriff’s spokeswoman Sgt. Cindi West.

Who left the baby — and why — remains unknown.

A man walking along the 38000 block of Southeast North Bend Way spotted the newborn’s body about 10 feet off the road around 2:15 p.m. in a wooded area not far from the Snoqualmie Casino.

Investigators have declined to reveal the baby’s gender.

Detectives have followed up on several tips but none have led them to the people responsible. Photos have been released of a Chick Pea brand burping pad and faded Target brand black bath towel found with the baby, hoping someone will recognize them.

Anyone with information on Baby Kimball Doe is asked to call the Sheriff’s Office at 206-296-3311, or Crime Stoppers at 800-222-TIPS.
