Forecasters say a series of storms will blow across Washington this weekend with heavy rain in parts of Western Washington, snow in the mountains and winds gusting to 50 mph Saturday in places in Eastern Washington.

The National Weather Service says rain totals of 4 to 6 inches on the Olympics and 3-5 inches on the Cascades could fill flood-prone rivers by Saturday night in King, Pierce and Mason counties.

The storm is expected to drop more than a foot of snow by Saturday night in the Cascades where the snow level will fall to 2,000, making driving difficult in highway passes.

Rain, mountain snow and gusty winds also are forecast for Eastern Washington.

Forecasters say Seahawks fans should expect rain for Saturday's playoff game in Seattle.
