BELLINGHAM, Wash. (AP) — The Washington State Patrol says alcohol was likely a factor in a double fatal crash in Whatcom County on Tuesday morning.

Two young men were killed in the crash just north of Bellingham. A 23-year-old drove his vehicle over the centerline and collided head on with a vehicle driven by a 20-year-old.

There were no passengers in either vehicle. The crash closed State Route 539 for the investigation.
