SEATTLE —

Seattle police say three roommates heard an intruder enter their house and rifle through their refrigerator.

When they got out of their beds and walked out to the living room, they found the front door they'd left unlocked was standing wide open. Though the front window, they could see a man chowing down on leftover chicken taken from their kitchen. The man then walked away.

Police say on their website that officers responded to the roommates' call early Thursday morning but the suspect was gone.

The roommates told police the leftover chicken was the only thing missing.
