A 29-year-old Seattle man was charged Wednesday with three counts of promoting the commercial sex abuse of a minor for allegedly pimping out a 16-year-old girl for three months, according to King County prosecutors.

Teyon Brooks, who works for FedEx in Auburn, was arrested by a Seattle police SWAT team Friday night at his Central District apartment, charging papers say. He is being held in the King County Jail in lieu of $200,000 bail, jail records show.

Brooks does not have a criminal history but does have a concealed-weapons permit and is alleged to have threatened the girl with a .40-caliber handgun when she resisted his demands, charging papers say. The papers also say Brooks plied the girl with Ecstasy and booze, bought her short dresses and high heels, gave her a sexually transmitted disease and used the money she made to support his girlfriend and kids.

Brooks’ girlfriend, who has not been charged, later told detectives she gave the girl advice on how to prostitute and suggested movies for the girl to watch, the charging papers say. The girlfriend, who said she knew Brooks was having sex with the girl, also accompanied Brooks and the girl to Southcenter Mall to buy the girl a cellphone and clothes, the charging papers say.

The charges allege that the girl worked as a prostitute for Brooks from March to June.

The 16-year-old ran away from home in January after a fight with her mother, according to the charging documents.

After staying with friends, the girl met Brooks and after a night of drinking, woke up naked in the back seat of his car outside his Auburn workplace, the papers say. Brooks then bragged about having sex with the girl, but the girl told him she didn’t remember it, according to the papers.

In early March, Brooks called the girl and offered her $600 to attend a party with two males, according to the charges. Brooks bought the girl a dress and heels, and drove her to Auburn for the party, but once there, the girl didn’t get the money she was promised and Brooks gave her a cup of juice spiked with Ecstasy, the papers say.

After the girl took two more Ecstasy tablets, Brooks took her to Denny Way in downtown Seattle, where he instructed her “to walk the track and engage customers to have sex with her for money,” according to charging papers.

“After this first night of working as a prostitute for Brooks, this became a daily job for her,” with the girl typically working from 8 p.m. to 8 a.m., the papers say.

On one cold, rainy night, the girl said she wasn’t going to walk the Denny Way track, but Brooks pulled a gun from his backpack and ordered her out of the car, charging papers say. The girl later told detectives “Brooks always had the gun out in the car, either in his lap or on the front passenger seat,” according to the charges.
