SPOKANE, Wash. —

A former Lewiston-Clarkston Valley resident was released Wednesday from Washington's sex predator Special Commitment Center.

The Lewiston Tribune reports ( http://bit.ly/18BNA8a) Monte C. Hoisington plans to live in Spokane and is expected to register Thursday with the sheriff's office as a Level 3 sex offender.

The 61-year-old was convicted of rapes in Lewiston in 1977 and Asotin County in 1991. After prison he was committed in 2001 at McNeil Island for treatment.

Officials say Hoisington declined all treatment. He was released because psychologists determined he no longer met the criteria for confinement.

Hoisington would be confined again if he commits any crime or violates other conditions of his release such as looking at pornography.
