Sheriff: 1 dead after E. Wash. boating accident

The Lincoln County sheriff's office says a man is dead after a boating accident on Sprague Lake about 35 miles west of Spokane.

SPRAGUE, Wash. —

The Lincoln County sheriff's office says a man is dead after a boating accident on Sprague Lake about 35 miles west of Spokane.

KHQ-TV reports ( http://is.gd/FNJeNv) that the sheriff's office says officers responding to a Tuesday afternoon report of two people washed ashore at the lake found a man and woman. The man was dead at the scene.

The woman was taken to a Spokane hospital and her condition was not immediately known.

Neither has been identified.

The sheriff's office says preliminary information indicates the two were in a power boat. The boat has not been located.
