VANCOUVER, Wash. —

Wildlife agents captured a cougar early Friday in the backyard of a Vancouver home.

KGW reports ( http://bit.ly/10nbcTZ) the homeowner heard his dog barking, looked out the window and spotted the cougar in a tree.

Wildlife agents shot it with a tranquilizer and hauled it away in a cage. They planned to release it later in a remote area.

The wildlife department had received several calls earlier about the cougar but had been unable to find it.

Another cougar has been sighted recently in Lake Oswego, Ore.
