Spokane man burned in December house fire dies

A man who was burned over 75 percent of his body in a Spokane house fire in December has died at a Seattle hospital.

SPOKANE, Wash. —

A man who was burned over 75 percent of his body in a Spokane house fire in December has died at a Seattle hospital.

KREM reports (http://bit.ly/ZH4mtz) 28-year-old Shawn Apperson died Friday at Harborview Medical Center.

His father said his son went through multiple surgeries and was beginning to heal but suffered a heart attack in March.

Apperson was trapped in a bedroom basement of his home after helping his fiance and their 11-month-old baby climb out a window. He didn't fit through the window.
