KIRKLAND, Wash. —

The Washington State Patrol says two passengers in an SUV were killed in a collision on I-405 in Kirkland with a Sound Transit bus that continued for two miles. The bus driver said the brakes failed.

Trooper Julie Judson told KING Tuesday morning that the second person had died. KING reports she's the 75-year-old wife of a 76-year-old man who died in the Monday night crash. KING reports their 51-year-old son who was driving remains in a hospital.

Several passengers on the bus called 911 to report the collision and to say the bus wasn't stopping. It continued about two miles on the interstate before it pulled over.

There were about three dozen people on the bus and some had minor injuries.
