KENNEWICK, Wash. —

A jury has been selected for the Benton County manslaughter trial of a nanny accused of injuring a 1-year-old Richland boy who died of head and neck injuries.

Twenty-eight-year-old Kelli Jacobsen was the live-in nanny for Ryder Morrison. She called 911 in June of 2011 and said he had fallen and hit the back of his head. The autopsy found the boy died of bleeding normally caused by whiplash, not a fall.

The Tri-City Herald reports ( http://bit.ly/XXpHRO) opening statements are scheduled Thursday for the trial expected to last three weeks.
