Cathlamet woman turns fur coats into teddy bears

CATHLAMET, Wash. —

Pat Talbott would never wear a fur coat. But she doesn't want to see them thrown away either.

The 71-year-old Cathlamet woman turns old fur coats from auctions and thrift shops into toy teddy bears.

The Daily News reports ( http://bit.ly/11alxoA) families also bring furs to Talbott and ask her to make bears as mementoes. She says when a family has a teddy bear made from grandma's fur coat they remember grandma.
