STANWOOD, Wash. —

A man seriously injured in a logging accident in rugged terrain near Stanwood, Wash., was hoisted into a Snohomish County sheriff's helicopter and flown to an Everett hospital.

Sheriff's spokeswoman Shari Ireton says the helicopter was called because emergency crews couldn't reach the man on foot.

The 25-year-old man was injured Friday at the Pilchuck Tree Farm.

The Daily Herald reports the man has a broken leg.
