SEATTLE —

Former Washington and Washington State men's basketball coach Marv Harshman has died at 95.

Harshman's death was confirmed on Friday afternoon by the University of Washington, the final school he coached at. Current Huskies coach Lorenzo Romar says he spoke with Harshman's son, Dave, Friday morning and tweeted that Harshman passed away at 9:02 a.m.

Harshman was enshrined in the Basketball Hall of Fame in 1985. He spent 40 years coaching in the state of Washington, first at his alma mater Pacific Lutheran. He then moved across the state to Pullman, where he coached the Cougars for 13 seasons. His final coaching job came at Washington, where four times he won 20 or more games with the Huskies and three times went to the NCAA tournament before retiring in 1985.
