Winds to 55 mph cause damage in Pendleton, Ore.

PENDLETON, Ore. —

The National Weather Service says winds as high as 55 mph destroyed a barn and knocked down power lines Thursday night in the Pendleton, Ore., area.

Meteorologist Dennis Hull tells KNDU-TV that witnesses reported seeing a "swirling motion" in the sky during a thunder storm but the Weather Service has found no evidence of any tornado damage.
