5 teen girls injured in crash near Tacoma

The Washington State Patrol says seat belts saved five teen girls from serious injuries when their car left Highway 167 near Tacoma about 3 a.m. Thursday, hit a pole and some trees and landed on its roof.

TACOMA, Wash. —

The Washington State Patrol says seat belts saved five teen girls from serious injuries when their car left Highway 167 near Tacoma about 3 a.m. Thursday, hit a pole and some trees and landed on its roof.

The girls, ages 15 to 17, were treated for minor injuries. The driver was arrested for investigation of vehicle assault. Troopers believe she may have been drinking.
