The Soldiers Project of Washington on Tuesday presented an award to GI Voice for its work in “promoting healing among service members and veterans at Joint Base Lewis-McChord.”

The Soldiers Project is a group of licensed mental-health professionals who offer free counseling services to service members and their families. It has been working in cooperation with GI Voice’s Coffee Strong to reach out to people who need help. GI Voice has closed its original Coffee Strong location, which first opened in 2008. But it has opened up a new storefront nearby that helps service members and veterans seeking medical discharges and other assistance.
