ARLINGTON, Wash. —

A body found Thursday in the passenger seat of a car in an Arlington parking lot may be a person who was reported missing after a shooting Monday in Mount Vernon.

Police who responded to a report of gunshots didn't find anything, but the next day a resident reported blood in a home where several people live. Police were looking for a car associated with the case when they found the body.

Washington State Patrol detectives are helping Mount Vernon police while the Snohomish County medical examiner's office determines the identity and how the person died.
