SPOKANE, Wash. —

A Spokane County sheriff's spokesman says investigators searching for a missing teen have found a body buried in a heavily wooded area in the northern part of the county.

Acting on a tip, law enforcement officers from both Spokane County and Whitman County searched the area Wednesday.

The Spokesman Review said ( http://is.gd/QfeB5n) the Spokane County medical examiner's office will identify the body. Deputy Craig Chamberlin announced the find.

Officers are looking for 17-year-old Donavin Stapert, who has been missing since March 8. He was last seen at a home in the Whitman County town of Malden.

Three people have been arrested in the case. Authorities believe Stapert died on or about March 7 at a Malden home and his body was moved to another location.
