YAKIMA, Wash. —

Authorities are trying to identify a man found dead Tuesday morning in a downtown Yakima parking lot.

Police believe the man was killed in a Monday night disturbance. Investigators aren't saying how he was killed, except he wasn't shot.

The Yakima Herald-Republic reports ( http://bit.ly/ZZND5c) it's likely the first homicide of the year in the city.

Police are asking residents for help identifying the man. Capt. Rod Light says he probably lived in the area.
