A Gig Harbor man has been charged with vehicular homicide and reckless endangerment for the crash that killed his 9-year-old nephew.
The News Tribune reports ( http://bit.ly/XntK6s) 26-year-old Jayce Randall is being arraigned Tuesday in Tacoma.
Authorities say Randall had been drinking and using marijuana before he left early Saturday to give his nephew and 8-year-old niece a ride to their grandparents.
Randall lost control and rolled his car off Highway 16 near Purdy. Randall and 9-year-old Donovan Best were ejected from the car. The boy was fatally injured. Randall was released Monday from a hospital.
The 8-year-old girl was buckled in the back seat and not injured. She told troopers she and her brother were crying and asking their uncle to slow down.
